Most of any recent president. He thinks he's the king....doesn't need anyone else's help! I hope they turn on the arrogent BASTARD! Had to t ask his lawyer friend,'is that right?', when he ordered Gitmo to be shut down.Didn't he know what was in "HIS" executive order? The trouble is he gets cocky real fast. Wouldn't surprize me if if tried something on gun control...maybe just something small to show he can do it.

Well... try to keep things in perspective here.
So far he hasn't done anything really shocking.
If you recall, it was George Bush Jr's own personal initiative that dragged the entire US into a war on the other side of the globe.

Barry's going to screw up stuff, certainly--but so far I don't see much to complain about.

As far as HR45, it is a long way from reality.
I would be extremely surprised for any law to pass that requires licensing of firearms already in the public hands--because congress knows that no gun owner is going to do that.

I hate to break up this Obama hatefest, but there have been over 13,000 executive orders issued by Presidents. Generally, the more recent presidents have issued more than our earlier presidents. I think Bush issued close to 1000, but thats just off the top of my head.

Executive orders are a violation of the US CONstitutions separation of powers doctrine, but stems from implied emergency powers granted to the president during a crisis or emergency. We have been in a state of emergency since 1933 and can argue since 1861.

Executive orders are considered law UNLESS revoked by CONgress! Currently there are executive orders on the books (just waiting for the right time to be used) whereby CONgress can tell you where you must work, even apart from your family. CONgress can utilize your car, home. . .anything. President Kennedy (bum) signed most of these executive orders. President Nixon clarified them and put enforcement of them under FEMA. Whoever runs FEMA, runs the United States in a newly declared emergency.

If passed, this bill would require that anyone wishing to purchase, own, or possess a "qualifying firearm" - that's any handgun, and any long gun capable of accepting a detachable magazine - would have to be licensed by the state or the federal government in a licensing program managed by the Attorney General. To get a license you would have to prove you're you, provide a passport-style photo, a thumbprint, and take a written exam which includes questions about firearms safety, safe storage, the risks of firearms ownership, and anything else the Attorney General deems appropriate. All transfers would be required to go through a licensed dealer with the exception of occasional gifts or bequests between parents, children (18 or over), and grandparents, or loans of not more than 30 days between "persons who are personally known to one another." (It actually says that. I'm not making this up.) And all transfers would have to be recorded in a "Transfer Record" established and maintained by the Attorney General.

It makes failure to report the loss or theft of a firearm within 72 hours a felony punishable by up to 2 years in prison. Failure to keep a firearm locked up in such a way as to keep it inaccessible to anyone under 18 becomes a federal felony too.

So if you lose your guns in a boating accident, you have three days to report the loss. IF NOT, two years in the clink.

I don't see anything wrong with the 3 executive orders he signed in the video.

He just restored a good deal of our Constitution.

Remember, Obama is a Constitutional scholar. It's his "specialty" - quite the opposite of The Dimwit and his puppetmaster, Deadeye Dick.

Now when/if the gun-grabbing bills start coming, you bet your ass I will get worked up and make a stink with my reps and sign petitions and donate money to whatever gun rights lobbying I see doing the most to oppose these bills.

Legally speaking an Executive Order is a direction to an executive agency that tells them "how to interpret" a law. Many are very dubious from a legal standpoint, others less so.

So for example, say we have a law that says "torture" is illegal. But congress didn't bother to define torture. The executive (Obama) writes an executive order (to the military and the CIA) that basically says until Congress says otherwise, you may not use any techniques defined as "torture" in the US Army Field manual.

Or we have a law that says to import a firearm, it must have a "sporting purpose". Again Congress does not bother to define what "sporting purpose" means. This means that the BATFE gets to make up the rules. An executive order banning the import of say 7.62 x 39 ammo would basically be an order tot he BATFE that says (this kind of ammo is non-sporting)

Since everything Congress passes is open to interpretation...
